Welcome to our Evolution of the Modern Novel.

Throughout the quarter we have read a multitude of books and articles and have tried to fathom what the Modern Novel truly entails.

​

At the home page, you will find a various of artifacts that we deem relevant to the journey of the Modern Novel, and the Modern Novel today.

​

These artifacts were chosen individually by our group members, and have explanations within them as to why they are being included in the exhibit. We tried our hardest to ensure that every book relates back to pieces that we have read in our course, TLIT 458, or relate back to the material that we chose to include in our exhibit.

 

We have broken down the development of the Modern Novel into the following eras: 

 

1000 - 1300 

1300 - 1600

1600 - 1900

1900 .- Today

 

These times were chosen and divided, as they mark significant movements and shifts in specific eras. You will see changes in themes, see similarities across the novels and hopefully be able to see the evolution of the modern novel while exploring through these eras.
